The Voynich Manuscript
This peculiar 15th-century text filled with unknown script and strange illustrations has resisted all decoding attempts since its discovery in 1912. Named after Wilfrid Voynich, who purchased it, the 240 vellum pages contain drawings of unidentifiable plants, nude figures, and zodiac-like symbols written in an unreadable cipher. Carbon dating places its creation between 1404-1438. Despite attempts by linguists and artificial intelligence, the text remains uncracked—either an elaborate hoax or completely lost language.
