A 5,000-year-old Scottish rock slab covered with cup-and-ring marks was unearthed again in 2015 after being buried for decades to protect it from vandalism. At 43 by 26 feet, it ranks among Europe’s largest rock art panels. The stone contains concentric grooves and hollows carved by prehistoric people. Modern archaeologists used 3D scanning to capture weathered details before reburying it. Some theories suggest it tracked celestial movements or marked territorial boundaries.
