The Yonaguni Monument
An underwater stepped structure off Japan’s coast, discovered in 1986, continues to spark debate about whether it’s a natural formation or evidence of a sunken city. Located 25 meters below the surface, its flat platforms and right angles stretch 50 meters long. Divers report finding stone tools and a possible face carving nearby. Some researchers date it to 10,000 years ago, while skeptical geologists argue ocean currents naturally shaped the sandstone formation.
