Throughout history, puzzling discoveries have challenged our understanding of the past. What secrets did our ancestors know that became lost to time? How did they achieve engineering feats that seemed impossible, given their supposed technological limitations? Thanks to advances in scientific analysis and imaging technology, we’re finally solving many of these historical conundrums.
Stonehenge’s Hidden Ring

Ground-penetrating radar unveiled a massive buried circle of stones near Stonehenge, nicknamed “Super-Henge,” in 2014. Scientists found up to 90 standing stones at Durrington Walls, some towering over 4 meters tall. The discovery transforms our understanding of Stonehenge. Rather than standing alone, it appears to be part of a larger ritual landscape where ancient people possibly gathered for seasonal ceremonies across multiple sacred sites.
