The Colares Island Attacks (1977)
Brazilian villagers reported strange beams of light that left burns and puncture wounds on their bodies. The Brazilian Air Force launched Operation Saucer to investigate. Victims showed unusual marks where they claimed the beams had struck them. Doctor Wellaide Cecim documented numerous cases with similar symptoms. The military took photographs of the objects and collected witness accounts. Some residents fled the island in fear. The investigation lasted four months before being suddenly shut down.
