Electronic recycling shipments contained more than outdated technology when inspectors found counterfeit pharmaceuticals inside hollow computer components. The smugglers removed internal electronic parts and replaced them with pill packages. They carefully resealed the components to appear untouched. Weight inconsistencies in supposedly identical parts prompted closer examination.
