Taxidermied Animals Stuffed with Drugs
A “wildlife exhibit” entering the country contained mounted animals with unusual weight distributions. Instead of traditional stuffing materials, the taxidermied specimens contained cocaine packages. The smugglers replaced normal preservation materials with drugs and sealed the animals to appear authentic. Inconsistent paperwork for the exhibit prompted thorough examination of the specimens.
