3. Battle of Okehazama (1560)
In 1560, Oda Nobunaga’s forces, numbering approximately 2,000 to 3,000 men, faced the much larger army of Imagawa Yoshimoto, which had about 25,000 troops. Nobunaga’s strategic surprise attack during a sudden rainstorm caught the Imagawa forces off guard, leading to a decisive victory. This battle significantly enhanced Nobunaga’s reputation and marked a pivotal moment in the Sengoku period.
