26. He Expanded the Company to Hotels and Casinos

In 1978, Trump purchased a 50% stake in the Commodore Hotel in Manhattan, which was adjacent to Grand Central Terminal, and reopened it in 1980 as the Grand Hyatt Hotel. The businessman moved The Trump Organization out of New York City and into nearby areas, like Atlantic City, New Jersey, where he built hotels and casinos.
