Due to the enormous response that Jon Krakauer’s article, Death of an Innocent, received, Jon then decided to write an expansion of the material. The book, Into the Wild, has become an international bestseller which has been printed in 30 languages and 173 editions and formats. Most reviewers have lauded the book as factual and well-researched, but at least one Alaskan reporter, Craig Medred, has claimed that it is “something invented” by Jon
