Woman in Gold (2015)
Helen Mirren portrays Maria Altmann’s quest to reclaim Gustav Klimt’s painting of her aunt, stolen by Nazis decades earlier. The film moves between 1940s Vienna and her modern legal battle against the Austrian government. Through her story, we see how Holocaust survivors fought to recover their stolen heritage. Ryan Reynolds plays the young lawyer who helps her challenge international art restitution laws.
