Defiance (2008)
Daniel Craig and Liev Schreiber portray the Bielski brothers, who created a Jewish partisan community in Belarus’s forests during World War II. The film shows how they built a self-sustaining society while fighting Nazi forces and local collaborators. Their forest sanctuary saved 1,200 Jews from certain death. The movie reveals a little-known story of active Jewish resistance during the Holocaust.
