King Vidor was a veteran film director with an over 60-year career under his belt that started in the silent era of films. Here we can see him giving direction to Ruth Hussey, Fay Holden, and Van Helfin in the 1941 film HM Pulham, Esq at a wedding sequence. The movie was based on a novel with the same name about a businessman who, while living a “normal” quiet life, couldn’t keep his mind away from a young woman who took him out of his comfort zone to live with more passionate and charismatic energy.
