Many stars in the golden age of cinema had very humble beginnings. For instance, Debbie Reynolds’s family was not wealthy at all; her father was a carpenter, and her mother would do people’s laundry for a bit of cash. So there’s no wonder that when Debbie made it big, she made sure to take care of her parents. This picture shows her father, Ray Reynolds, and Grandmother O. Harman at a banquet in 1955.
