Their secret steamy relationship wasn’t well known publicly for a few decades. Nevertheless, there was no hiding from their peers who knew that something was happening between them. Their romance got so intense that Wayne brought many excuses so that he wasn’t drafted so that he could continue their affair. Well, he did go to war, but only in the movies.
