61. You Call Marco, and I’ll Say Polo
You probably remember playing a “Marco Polo” game with your friends when you were a child. This game is where one person yells “Marco” and the other calls back “Polo” until the parties find each other. While this is a popular game, it might not be as popular as the namesake for the game – Marco Polo himself. Of the many hats Polo wore, he was an explorer, writer, and Venetian merchant who journeyed through Asia when he traveled the Silk Road in the late 1200s. He also explored across Europe and then focused on China, where he stayed for nearly 20 years.
