4. Prince Octavius of Great Britain
Prince Octavius, the eighth son of King George III and Queen Charlotte, was born on February 23, 1779, at Buckingham House in London. He was cherished by his family, especially his father, who was deeply devoted to him. At the age of four, Octavius was inoculated against smallpox, a common practice at the time. Tragically, he fell ill and died on May 3, 1783, at Kew Palace. His untimely death devastated his parents, particularly King George III.
