In the 1930s, Nazi scientists Heinz and Lutz Heck initiated a breeding program to recreate the extinct aurochs, aiming to produce a “super cow” symbolizing Aryan strength. They crossbred various cattle breeds, including Spanish fighting bulls and Scottish Highland cattle, resulting in the Heck cattle. These animals exhibited increased aggression and strength, leading to their use in Nazi propaganda. Post-war, many were destroyed due to their uncontrollable nature.
