15. Project Habakkuk: The Ice Aircraft Carrier
During World War II, British inventor Geoffrey Pyke proposed constructing a massive aircraft carrier made of pykrete—a mixture of wood pulp and ice. This “iceberg ship” was envisioned to be unsinkable and capable of housing numerous aircraft.
