The Original Surveying Methods
Egyptian surveyors used geometry and specialized tools to accurately measure land boundaries after annual Nile floods. They developed the merkhet, a sighting tool for astronomical alignments, and the bay, a measuring cord with marked intervals. These instruments helped them recreate property lines and plan massive construction projects with remarkable precision. Their techniques formed the foundation of modern surveying.
