Persian architects developed ingenious wind towers called badgirs to naturally cool buildings in hot climates. These tall structures captured passing breezes and channeled them over water features or through underground passages, significantly reducing indoor temperatures. The system required no mechanical power yet effectively cooled entire buildings, demonstrating remarkable understanding of airflow principles and thermal dynamics.
