12. Operation Ivory Coast (Son Tay Raid)
On November 21, 1970, U.S. Special Forces conducted Operation Ivory Coast, a daring mission aimed at rescuing American prisoners of war from the Sơn Tây prison camp in North Vietnam. Despite meticulous planning and execution, the operation faced a significant setback: the prisoners had been relocated months earlier.
