Tokugawa Ieyasu’s Eastern Army faced Ishida Mitsunari’s Western Army in central Honshu. The Eastern Army’s victory led to the establishment of the Tokugawa Shogunate, which ruled Japan for over 250 years, unifying the nation and ushering in a long period of peace.
