11. Battle of Leipzig (1813)
The Battle of Leipzig, also known as the Battle of the Nations, was fought from October 16 to 19, 1813, near Leipzig, Saxony. This decisive confrontation involved approximately 560,000 soldiers, making it the largest battle of the Napoleonic Wars and the largest in Europe prior to World War I. The coalition forces, comprising Russian, Prussian, Austrian, and Swedish troops, decisively defeated Napoleon Bonaparte’s French army.
