Plato’s Pursuit of Knowledge
Plato believed we must seek knowledge of eternal Forms, especially the Form of the Good. His famous cave allegory shows how most people see only shadows of reality. True fulfillment comes when we use reason and contemplation to escape ignorance. For Plato, our rational souls yearn to return to perfect understanding that physical existence obscures.
