11. 75th Ranger Regiment
The 75th Ranger Regiment is a distinguished U.S. Army special operations unit renowned for its expertise in direct action raids, counterterrorism, and reconnaissance missions. Established during World War II, the regiment has participated in numerous campaigns, including the invasions of French Morocco, Sicily, Naples-Foggia, Anzio, and Leyte. In modern times, the regiment has earned six Presidential Unit Citations, nine Valorous Unit Awards, and four Meritorious Unit Commendations for its exceptional service. The regiment’s motto, “Sua Sponte,” meaning “Of their own accord,” reflects the voluntary commitment and valor of its soldiers.
