The Yom Kippur War, also known as the October War, was a significant conflict fought from October 6 to October 25, 1973, between Israel and a coalition of Arab states led by Egypt and Syria. The war began with a surprise attack on Israel during the Jewish holy day of Yom Kippur, which coincided with the 10th day of Ramadan.
