12. Battle of Baqubah (2007)
In 2007, U.S. forces launched Operation Arrowhead Ripper to seize Baqubah, then considered the capital of al-Qaeda in Iraq.
The battle featured intense house-to-house fighting as troops worked to dislodge insurgents and restore control. Baqubah’s urban terrain and entrenched fighters made the operation both costly and crucial to weakening al-Qaeda’s grip.
