8. Ludwig II (Bavaria)
King Ludwig II of Bavaria, known as the “Fairy Tale King,” ascended to the throne in 1864 at the age of 18. He became renowned for his obsession with constructing elaborate castles, including Neuschwanstein, Linderhof, and Herrenchiemsee. These projects drained his personal finances and led to significant debts. Ludwig’s withdrawal from state affairs and his lavish spending contributed to his deposition in 1886. He was found dead under mysterious circumstances shortly after his removal from power.
