8. The Battle of Bunker Hill (1775)
Although the British ultimately claimed the field at Bunker Hill, their victory came at an enormous cost. Heavy casualties shocked the British command and revealed that colonial forces were a serious threat. This intense resistance inspired and emboldened the American revolutionaries, fueling their determination to continue the fight for independence. Bunker Hill’s aftermath shifted perceptions on both sides, proving the conflict would not be easily won.
