10. The Minor Scale Test (1985)
On June 27, 1985, the U.S. conducted the Minor Scale Test at the White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico. This test involved the detonation of 4,744 tons of ammonium nitrate fuel oil (ANFO), creating an explosion equivalent to 4 kilotons of TNT.
