10. Housing Issues and Infrastructure
Many reservations struggle with housing shortages, overcrowding, and aging infrastructure. Compared to other rural areas, these challenges are even more pronounced, with some homes lacking reliable water, heat, or electricity. Poor infrastructure affects health, education, and economic opportunity, making improvements a critical need. Tribal governments and federal programs work together to address these gaps, but progress remains slow (via HUD Native American Programs).
