2. HMS Bounty
The HMS Bounty, commanded by Captain William Bligh, embarked on a mission in 1787 to transport breadfruit from Tahiti to the West Indies. During a five-month stay in Tahiti, crew members formed relationships with the local women, leading to tensions upon departure. On April 28, 1789, acting Lieutenant Fletcher Christian led a mutiny, setting Bligh and 18 loyalists adrift in a small boat. Remarkably, Bligh navigated over 3,600 miles to Timor. The mutineers eventually settled on Pitcairn Island, where their descendants reside today (rmg.co.uk).
