9. The Britannic
The Britannic, the third of the Olympic-class ocean liners and sister ship to the Titanic, was launched in 1914. Following the Titanic disaster, it underwent design modifications to enhance safety, including increased lifeboats and watertight compartments. Requisitioned as a hospital ship during World War I, it struck a mine in the Aegean Sea on November 21, 1916, sinking in 55 minutes and resulting in 30 fatalities.
