6. The Great Brinks Robbery (1950, USA)
On January 17, 1950, an 11-man crew executed a meticulously planned heist at the Brink’s Armored Car Depot in Boston, Massachusetts. Disguised in chauffeur’s caps and Halloween masks, they overpowered five employees, binding and gagging them. Within minutes, they stole over $2.7 million in cash, checks, and other securities, making it the largest robbery in U.S. history at that time. The FBI’s extensive investigation, which included analyzing physical evidence like a chauffeur’s cap left at the scene, eventually led to the capture and conviction of the perpetrators.
