Anton Szandor LaVey - Church of Satan

20. LaVey promoted the Church by staging Satanic rituals at nightclubs involving semi-naked women

‘If all attempts to sell something (be it a product or idea) have failed – sex always sell it’, notes LaVey in The Satanic Bible. He may well have been remembering the early days of the Church, when he would put on live shows at San Francisco nightclubs involving topless witches and an ‘inquisitor’ in a bikini, which clearly had more to do with attracting men to the Church than any serious Luciferian rite. Such public events were further supplemented by photographs of LaVey and numerous naked women at his home (surrounded, of course, by pentagrams).
