10. Pontiac (Odawa)
Pontiac, born around 1720 near the Maumee River (now in Ohio), was an influential Odawa chief who led a significant resistance against British colonial rule in the Great Lakes region. In 1763, he orchestrated a coordinated attack known as Pontiac’s War, targeting British forts and settlements to expel them from Native lands (battlefields.org).
