10. Operation Fortitude – The Fake Army
Operation Fortitude was a pivotal Allied deception strategy during World War II, designed to mislead Nazi Germany about the location and timing of the D-Day invasion. It comprised two sub-operations: Fortitude North, which aimed to convince the Germans that the Allies would invade Norway, and Fortitude South, which focused on the Pas-de-Calais region of France.
