3. Project Stargate: Psychic Spies
The CIA’s Project Stargate, initiated in the 1970s, aimed to explore the potential of extrasensory perception (ESP) and remote viewing for intelligence gathering. The program sought to train individuals to perceive distant locations and events without the use of traditional surveillance methods. Despite extensive research and investment, the project yielded limited reliable evidence of success. In 1995, following a comprehensive evaluation, the CIA concluded that the program had not provided actionable intelligence and subsequently terminated it.
