King Henry VIII’s marriages to Anne Boleyn and Catherine Howard ended tragically with their executions on charges of adultery and treason. Anne Boleyn, his second wife, was executed in 1536 after being accused of adultery, incest, and plotting to kill the king. Catherine Howard, his fifth wife, was executed in 1542 on similar charges.
