13. Agdam, Azerbaijan
Once a thriving regional hub, Agdam expanded quickly with new industry and housing before war struck in the 1990s. The Nagorno-Karabakh conflict forced its population to flee, leaving behind miles of shattered buildings and empty streets. Today, Agdam’s haunting ruins stretch across the landscape, serving as a powerful symbol of urban loss caused by conflict—much like Pripyat or Oradour-sur-Glane.
