5. Juan Ponce de León
In 1513, Spanish explorer Juan Ponce de León led an expedition to the coast of Florida, naming the land “La Florida” in honor of the Easter season. He is often associated with the mythical Fountain of Youth, a legend that predates his voyage. While some accounts suggest he was searching for this fountain, there is no definitive evidence to confirm this.
