13. Nuclear Collaboration After WWII
Following World War II, the United States and the United Kingdom continued their nuclear collaboration, building upon their joint efforts during the Manhattan Project. In 1958, they signed the Mutual Defence Agreement (MDA), formalizing the exchange of nuclear materials, technology, and information to enhance each nation’s atomic weapon capabilities. This agreement has been renewed multiple times, most recently in 2024, ensuring the enduring strength of their nuclear partnership (armscontrol.org).
