6. The Women’s Army Corps (WAC)
Established in 1942, the Women’s Army Corps (WAC) integrated more than 150,000 American women into essential non-combat military positions during World War II. Their roles included switchboard operators, mechanics, and bakers, significantly transforming U.S. military support systems.
