8. Not All Sectors Observed the Truce
In some areas, fighting persisted. French troops, fighting on recently occupied soil, tended to be less inclined to fraternize, highlighting the truce’s patchwork nature. The truce was not universal and was seen by some commanders as dangerous to military discipline.
