8. Kim Il-Sung
Kim Il-Sung, born on April 15, 1912, in Mangyongdae, near Pyongyang, Korea, was the son of Kim Hyong-jik, an independence activist, and Kang Pan-sok. His family was active in anti-Japanese resistance, leading them to flee to Manchuria in 1920.
