7. The Blockade of Gaza
Since 2007, Israel and Egypt have imposed a comprehensive blockade on the Gaza Strip, restricting land, air, and sea access. This blockade has severely limited the flow of goods and humanitarian aid into Gaza, leading to significant economic decline and humanitarian crises. The United Nations has highlighted the blockade’s detrimental effects, noting that it has resulted in high unemployment, food insecurity, and a dependency on international aid among Gaza’s population (ochaopt.org).
