This labyrinthine marketplace is the world’s largest covered bazaar and has thrived since antiquity. As the crossroads of the Silk Road, the bazaar blends Persian, Mongol, and Ottoman influences—much like Istanbul’s Grand Bazaar. It remains vibrant in both commerce and culture. More at unesco.org.
