10. Ancient Egyptians Were Obsessed with Death
While elaborate funerary rituals are a hallmark of Ancient Egypt, they were not evidence of a morbid fixation on death. Instead, Egyptians viewed the afterlife as a continuation of existence, not a final ending. Art, literature, and daily practices reveal a vibrant culture that cherished family, joy, and the pursuit of order (ma’at). Death rituals focused on ensuring renewal and harmony in the next world.
