Madame De Pompadour

This cutie is Madame de Pompadour, the chief mistress to King Louis XV. Her real name was Jeanne Antoinette Poisson. Many historians write that she was a schemer- seducing the king to gain influence and power over his reign. While it’s true that she had a lot of influence in his court, there was so much more to Madame de Pompadour than being a seductress.
She was a patron of the arts, and even created her own works and performances during her lifetime. Throughout the years, her portraits change depending on her age. (Her last portrait even reveals the reality of being middle-aged with gray hair and a double chin.)
